The lost+found - directory is in every partition. If you have split up your partitions like this: / /usr /home /opt There is a lost+found directory in each of them. I just delete them, I really have no clue why it's there.. E2fsck uses lost+found. See `man mklost+found'. Ciao, Stefan -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

I known the utility of /lost+found directory but I don't want to see it in my home directory : /home/user_1 /home/user_2 /home/lost+found ... /home/user_n -- ---------------- Simeó Reig simeo@tinet.org Barcelona (SPAIN) ----------------- -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

It could help to make it root r/w only. Since it's a SYSTEM directory that will contain the recovered "lost and found" data it's (IMHO) neither a good idea to remove it. Hey, why dont you create a user named lost+found ?? I don't know if it's safe to delete /home/lost+found and recreate it in some other place on the same partition (using mklost+found). Maybe it's worth to try out.
