In 7.3, once I logged off, I had a reboot option which consisted of drop-down menu containing SuSe, Windows, and something else. After the 8.0 upgrade I have the reboot option but there is nothing in the drop-down menu. Thoughts are welcome. Tom Nielsen Neuro Logic Systems 805.389.5435 x18 www.neuro-logic.com

If you do "lilo -q" do you get any messages other than the boot options? If you do that's probably the reason. kdm tries to parse the output, and if there's anything there other than the boot options it can't handle it. Anders
I had the same problem. # lilo -q returned Warning: Int 0x13 function 8 and function 0x48 return different head/sector geometries for BIOS drive 0x80 Warning: Int 0x13 function 8 and function 0x48 return different head/sector geometries for BIOS drive 0x81 linux * failsafe windows memtest86 The Warning doesn't seem to be documented but probably has something to do with my BIOS, which has completely wrong CHS geometries for both hard disks. An acceptable (to me) solution is to put nowarn in /etc/lilo.conf so that it now starts # Modified by YaST2. Last modification on Thu Apr 25 17:19:28 2002 nowarn boot = /dev/hda change-rules reset read-only menu-scheme = Wg:kw:Wg:Wg lba32 prompt timeout = 80 message = /boot/message JDL Tom Nielsen wrote:
