Hi, Is it possible to have multiple identities (with different return address ) on mutt like it is possible on kmail. If so how does one go about configuring it and where? Thanks for any help, Wojtek
Yes. In .muttrc or .mutt.personal are the usual places. What
triggers a different identity? You can always put any address in the
From: header. I sort my incoming mail into different folders with
Maildrop (Procmail will do this too). Then the reply address/identity
depends on the current folder. This is what I have in .mutt.personal:
folder-hook . my_hdr From: "Jeffrey Taylor"

OK, I tried to put your solution in .muttrc, but I had some problems, probably because of following line: set sendmail="/usr/sbin/sendmail -oi -oem -t -f wmalinski@yahoo.com" Is there any possible way to make it work with keeping this line or change it in some way so I my local machine (at home) will look like is sending from either yahoo or other domain? Also is it possible to choose identities (when creating the mail and not responding to it? ) Thanks, Wojtek Jeffrey Taylor [jeff.taylor@ieee.org] wrote:

folder-hook =.argo my_hdr From: "Jeffrey Taylor" folder-hook =.blackbox my_hdr From: "Jeff Taylor" folder-hook =.courier my_hdr From: "Jeff Taylor" The first line sets the default. The rest set the From: header based on the folder name. RTFM, you can configure it other ways too. E.g., based on the To: or Cc: header.
