Re: [SLE] Package installers in SUSE10.1
Well.. things are improving :-) I'm finding my way around SMART a little better, and it's REALLY helped matters to update SMART/SMART-GUI to the one from (I believe) Guru's Repository. That combined with tips and suggestions on and off list... and it's beginngin to make a little more sense why people like Smart as a packagemanager. To summarize, get the YaST repositories from here: http://en.opensuse.org/Additional_YaST_Package_Repositories http://en.opensuse.org/Package_Repositories and the RPM repositories from here: http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/ http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories especially ones like this: http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/KDE:/KDE3/SUSE_Linux_10.1/i586/ There is a distinction becasue the YaST and RPM repositories are loaded slighly differently in the smart-gui. For navigation, make active use of the filters and tools in the menus... and it does the job. Thanks for all the on and off list replies. I believe you should drop the /i586/ from the above. Smart will use the correct arch packages, and some things are noarch.
