[opensuse] Evolution need to clear search to see messages
ref: opensuse 11.1 (32b) kde 4.2 evolution: 2.24.1.1 Problem: Unable to see messages. This message shows up in every folder: "No messages satisfy your search criteria. Enter clear search with Search >Clear menu item or change it" The Search field contains: "Subject or Sender contains" and it is not greyed out. The broom is active. If I clear the search either menu or broom the messages are there. As soon as I move to another folder the same thing. If I go back to the initial folder where I cleared the search, I have to clear it again. ----- I have the same setup with the same version of evolution in another machine running opensuse 11.1 64 bit. Everything works well there. I've just installed opensuse 11.1 32b in a laptop. Then I copied all the folders etc from the 64b machine to the laptop. The laptop is the one having the problems. How did I copy the setup?. I did it twice in 2 different ways: 1. Use the backup and restore feature. Everything seems to be OK except for the problem described. 2. To be sure the problem was not related to the backup-restore procedure. I did the following in both machines $ evolution --force-shutdown $ gconftool-2 --shutdown Then I copy ~/.evolution and ~/.gconf/apps/evolution Again everything is OK except the problem described. Any clues why the clear search does not stick? or if it is copy why it is different in both machines. I have been using evolution for many version as well as the #2 back up procedure just described without this behaviour.
