You can boot from installation disk 1 or the dvd in rescue mode, then mount the filesystem and run grub-install with the device information. i.e. grub-install /dev/sda if it boots from a scsi disk or /dev/hda to boot from ide.

I think you can boot to the install CD (for whatever version you have, not necessarily what is installed) and choose to boot to existing installation. Once you are booted to you existing installation, you can use yast / yast2 to configure your bootloader.

Ok, so I am re-installing Windows XP on my desktop PC, and I got it to wipe the windows directory, and put itself in. But now, It cleared off the MBR, and I can't boot $#!T. Any ideas on how to get GRUB back?
An other way is to boot the installation CD and pick install. Then after choosing language pick the repair option and it will reinstall grub. That is what I did. Robert Rawlinson
