SuSE Professional Ver 9.0 Current Fixes/Patches/Updates I understand that when I make a manual entry into a config file maintained by SuSEconfig, it will skip this configuration file in the future and leave a file called whatever.SuSEconfig. I would like to re-sync SuSEconfig so that It again checks and configures a file that was adjusted outside SuSEconfig. I've tried to delete the whatever.SuSEconfig file and run SuSEconfig, which restores the file and reports that the original has been modified. I've also tried copying the modified file to the whatever.SuSEconfig file, with no joy. I've looked at file permissions and didn't see any obvious differences. What am I missing, how do I sync these again so that SuSEconfig will take back ownership and maint? Thank you for any assistance. Peter Whatever.SuSEconfig = any file that might have a SuSEconfig alternate file placed, like postfix.SuSEconfig etc.

md5 files created by SuSEConfig you need to remove them also. On the otherhand most of the SuSE configuration files let you add things without breaking SuSEconfig functionality Check SuSEconfig.whatever to see where the md5 file is created along with under what name -- Togan Muftuoglu Unofficial SuSE FAQ Maintainer Please reply to the list; http://susefaq.sf.net Please don't CC me.
