Anyone know how to get these two things back in sync so I can use YOU again instead of having to "rpm -Fvh */*.rpm" every few days in my local mirror? :) --- terminal output --- dsauer@danny-pc:~> cat /etc/SuSE-release SuSE Linux 9.1 (i586) VERSION = 9.1 dsauer@danny-pc:~> online_update -k -V Types of patches to be installed: security recommended patchlevel Server URL: dir:///opt/suse/ Server Name: User-Defined Location Directory File: Path 0: ./i386/update/9.0/patches Path 1: ./i386/update/8.2/patches Security updates available. dsauer@danny-pc:~> online_update -c Product 0 (primary product) Name: SuSE Linux Version: 9.0 Architecture: i386 Product 1 Name: SuSE Linux Version: 8.2 Architecture: i386 Language: de Directory: directory.3 --- end terminal output --- I'm not sure why online_update thinks that I'm using the German language version of anything, or why it only knows about 9.0 and 8.2 - which were on this system before. In yast, I have only one installation source specified - the directory containing the 9.1 stuff. How can I tell the YOU setup that I'm running 9.1 and that I therefore only want updates for 9.1? It's a bit annoying to see updates available all the time when there really aren't any available for my system... :) --Danny

The file you need to edit /var/adm/YaST/ProdDB/prod_00000001 I've never seen it think you have two versions at once installed, but my guess is that when you look at the file, the edits you need to make will be obvious. Basically change 9.0 to 9.1 and delete the references to 8.2

Alright. I had to actually edit prod_00000002 and move that file to prod_00000001. Then there was the media line that I grabbed from the media/media file on my install medium. It still tells me that my language is de, but it seems to work alright anyway. Well, it works alright, on the assumption that there are no updates for 9.1 that I haven't installed, that is. :) Thanks! --Danny, glad that YOU can support over 99 million installed systems at once, based on the number of zeros in the id. :)
