ASUS A7V w/AMD Athlon 900Mhz (Thunderbird ?) 256meg PC133 Ram & ATI Rage 2000 AGP 32meg video IBM EIDE 46gig HD Adaptec 2940UW & Plextor 40X UW SCSI cd-rom SB Live PCI sound card
I loaded SuSE 7.0 Professional up and used YaST2 which worked fine except : 1. The SB Live was picked up and identified correctly by YaST2 in the install, but would not load the module ? It's in slot 5 on the MB and works fine in MS 98. 2. The 3C905-TX was picked up and identified correctly by YaST2 in the install, but would not load the module ? It's in slot 4 on the MB and works fine in MS 98.
Other than no LAN connection and sound, this is a very nice system and performs much better (faster, etc.), than my older AMD K2-450Mhz 3D-Now system. Thanks to all who recommended the hardware. I would like to know if anyone is using the A7V with Athlon and how they got the NIC working ...I need to get my LAN connection up. Best Regards /Dee
