With regards NIC is the slot PCI or Shared PCI/ISA? Windows works fine with
shared slots, but these often don't work with Linux, just a thought that you
might want to try a different slot?

Subject: [SLE] The New Hardware

Well I built my new workstation last weekend.
ASUS A7V w/AMD Athlon 900Mhz (Thunderbird ?)
256meg PC133 Ram & ATI Rage 2000 AGP 32meg video
IBM EIDE 46gig HD
Adaptec 2940UW & Plextor 40X UW SCSI cd-rom
SB Live PCI sound card

I loaded SuSE 7.0 Professional up and used YaST2 which worked fine
except :
1. The SB Live was picked up and identified correctly by YaST2 in the
install,
but would not load the module ? It's in slot 5 on the MB and works fine in
MS 98.
2. The 3C905-TX was picked up and identified correctly by YaST2 in the
install,
but would not load the module ? It's in slot 4 on the MB and works fine in
MS 98.
