My personal opionion is that www.opensuse.org should automatically redirect to the language your browser is requesting. If it doesn't exist, then en.opensuse.org.
I disagree here, it should go to a language select page, allowing the "visitor" the ability to chose whatever language they wished to use from those available. Just why everyone is expected to have the same "second language" is a "disapointment". scsijon

I would prefer this option as well, but could see that if a cookie from
the site had been set to use that language. It needs to have it easily
changed. I had trouble when changing from the OpenSUSE to the novell
site. I had German on the screen instead of English. So I want to make
sure that it is easy to get the language you want.

If you set up you browser properly, with all your languages of preference, then such a specific page is not required. This of course is not reality :-) I totally agree that it should be easy to switch from one language to another, whether that is on a "splash" screen or incorporated into the front page, I don't think really matters. As long it is clear how to get to the other languages (no matter what languages you understand). Peter 'Pflodo' Flodin.

Probably the best way should be to redirect all the misconfigured browsers to a page like yours (hub) and to give all the nationalized main pages a upper banner of flags I don't think a big image with around flags can be on top of a content page, it must be alone. If somebody can makes lizards with flags colors, nice :-) jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html http://lucien.dodin.net http://fr.susewiki.org/index.php?title=Gérer_ses_photos
