will this make the repository accessible from other machines? the idea is to make the opensuse repositories accessible from this one machine so the only repository the client PC's will have to access is this one therefore limiting internet traffic to this one PC>
No, your question was where to start creating a repo. To make it accessible for others, you have to share the /repo If your network is working proper, the repo should be visible after sharing it. Than you add the repo to the yast-sources on the other machines.
