[opensuse] LyX Problem: Missing *.cls
Hello Mates, i've tried to write a Document with LyX. I choosed the svmono Template. Now LyX says me, that "svmono.cls" is missing. Anyone know how to fix this? -- Sincerely yours Sascha Manns open-slx GmbH openSUSE Community & Support Agent openSUSE Marketing Team Blog: http://saigkill.wordpress.com Web: http://www.open-slx.de (openSUSE Box Support German) Web: http://www.open-slx.com (openSUSE Box Support English)
Download the package svmult.zip
http://www.springer.com/cda/content/document/cda_downloaddocument/svmult.zip...
Extract it. Create the folder svmult into the directory
/usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/. Copy into that folder the files contained
within the folder styles. Run texhash as root. It should work.

Francesco I've downloaded both proposals svmult and svmono. I've unzipped both and the result are a svmult and svmono Folder. Both i've copied into /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex.
ls gives: drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 4096 3. Sep 13:59 svmono/ drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 4096 3. Sep 13:59 svmult/ The Accessrules are like the others in that dir. The texhash under root runs good. (From my View). But if i open my Document, i've got: The selected document class book (Springer svmono) requires external files that are not available. The document class can still be used, but LyX will not be able to produce output until the following prerequisites are installed: svmono.cls See section 3.1.2.2 of the User's Guide for more information. Has any an idea for that? -- Sincerely yours Sascha Manns open-slx GmbH openSUSE Community & Support Agent openSUSE Marketing Team Blog: http://saigkill.wordpress.com Web: http://www.open-slx.de (openSUSE Box Support German) Web: http://www.open-slx.com (openSUSE Box Support English)
Hi Sascha
You must put into the folder /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/svmono the
files spbasic.bst spmpsci.bst spphys.bst svindd.ist svind.ist
svmult.cls. Probably only svmult.cls is mandatory. After that run,
texhash again

Adding the the .cls file is necessary for the latex engine,
tools->reconfigure is necessary to let lyx know that the latex engine
has been updated. Good work. Lyx is a powerful word processor.

Francesco

I googled and found this, which has a couple of zip files you can try http://www.springer.com/authors/book+authors?SGWID=0-154102-12-417900-0 Odd how my first recourse to any problem is to google.
