Ben, I grabbed the wrong information for you from the smbclient -L command. Here is the correct information: Welcome to SuSE Linux 9.0 (i586) - Kernel 2.4.21-202-default (5). I'm not using plain text passwords. What I'm trying to accomplish is to log in to a LINUX box and have the sign-on validated by the domain controller. In addition, I want to be able to open the LINUX samba-based shares from a Windows workstation.
Have you setup a machine account on the PDC for the linux box? Also can you run 'smbclient -L localhost' on the linux box and post the results. I'm starting to suspect that this is a pam/winbind issue as opposed to just samba. Thanks, Ben
