[opensuse] Firefox displays my website incorrectly
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have a website at http://brightonbelle.org/ which displays correctly on systems running Windows (various flavours), OSX, Android, and iOS, using browsers such as Chrome, Safari and Firefox. However, the only browser that displays it correctly on this machine is Konqueror. Both Chromium and Firefox have display errors. Firefox is my default browser for everything else, so I'd like it to work in this instance as well. The website home page should display a Calendar above an Events List above a Facebook widget above a mailing list subscription box, all in the right hand column, but Firefox is just showing empty white space there. My system is KDE 4.14.3 running on openSUSE 13.2. it displays correct here, no difference between Konqueror or Firefox, all 3 widgets are displayed fine. I also run Firefox 34 on openSUSE 13.2 but with LXDE. All the widgets display properly here. Peter -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Daniel, Peter, Thanks for the feedback, and it's reassuring to know that similar systems to my own are able to display the site correctly. It's frustrating making design adjustments to the site, and not being able to see the results - well, yes, I can use Konqueror for that, but it's inconvenient to have to fire it up just for this task. It's easier to move from tab to tab in the same browser. It works for me even with AdBlock, Ghostery and NoScript... For Your Firefox, I'd try new user or new profile to see it default Firefox... Vojtěch -- Vojtěch Zeisek Komunita openSUSE GNU/Linuxu Community of the openSUSE GNU/Linux http://www.opensuse.org/ http://trapa.cz/

OK. It works correctly for a new user. What do I need to do in my current user to clean things up? first try to use firefox's own reset function: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems if this does not help close all firefox instances (check that there is really no firefox process running anymore: ctrl-esc and type firefox, kill it, if necessary) rename ~/.mozilla/firefox/ to /.mozilla/myold.firefox/ (or thelike) start firefox again, it will create e new, clean profile -- Daniel Bauer photographer Basel Barcelona http://www.daniel-bauer.com room in Barcelona: https://www.airbnb.es/rooms/2416137 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks Daniel. I've already discovered that. Using the Reset function under Help/Troubleshooting Information did the trick. All working as it should now. Good idea! I'd forgotten about those. But, unfortunately it made no difference. I disabled them one at a time, then altogether. Strange. I guess you completely reloaded the page (shift-reload) after disabling addons... 2 things you could try: - clear the browser cache,if it doesn't help: - create a new user and check how it looks there -- Daniel Bauer photographer Basel Barcelona http://www.daniel-bauer.com room in Barcelona: https://www.airbnb.es/rooms/2416137 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
