Anyone have any success getting tribler installed on os13.1? Their website has instructions for a debian install, like on Ubuntu but I don't know how to take it from there to my system. http://forum.tribler.org/ Thanks, Fred -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

It looks like a few people have projects with tribler on OBS, but I see no successful builds for opensuse. I would go with this: https://github.com/Tribler/tribler#running-tribler-from-this-repository -- Per Jessen, Zürich (3.5°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - dedicated server rental in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

The problem appears to be that Tribler requires that openssl be compiled with support for elliptic curve cryptography. Opensuse and Fedora compile their packages without EC support. See: https://github.com/Tribler/tribler/issues/893 Apparently somebody's lawyers decided EC was patented. Ubuntu does provide EC support. Perhaps they have different lawyers. Perhaps the patents expired and the appropriate people at opensuse never noticed. I ended up running Ubuntu in a VM just so I can run tribler.
