My Battery monitor is acting strange. I have SUSE 10 installed on an IBM Thinkpad Z60m. If I unplug the power cord or boot on battery power I see the battery icon in the system tray but it never updates the usage. If I go to the powersave module in yast and click finished then it updates but only then. After this it fails to update again. If I go into the KDE control panel and click on 'Power control' and then on 'Laptop Battery' the module always has the correct remaining time but the icon in the system tray does not update. Any ideas?

I had this problem and it was because my battery needed to be replaced. How old is your laptop's battery? Thanks, LDB
