[opensuse] Solid state netbook optimization
For me and a client I would like to know how to optimize 12.1 for our netbooks. My client has a SSD and I would like to optimize it to perform better (power savings a plus but performance is main). I have read quite a few things with varying opinions, and not all methods may be applicable to openSUSE much less 12.1 using systemd now. For example the opinions are at odds on things like whether LVM increases performance, or if btrfs speeds up SSD's. I have managed to make a good number of conclusions but want a second opinion before I fiddle with things I don't know well. Both netbooks are HP Mini, so since SUSE and HP partner for testing we can probably assume ACPI or whatever else works more or less properly. -- Nobody said computers were going to be polite. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
