[opensuse] Virtualbox lost
Hi all, I have (had) vbox from Oracle to run win7 when I have some work with a win only application. That was the case today, but vbox stopped working. The system said I did not even have an installed vbox. With some difficulty I removed it, then tried to reinstall, but it did not succeed. The installer says after some seconds, that the user (me?) aborted the installation. I have oS 13.2_x64 with kde 4.14.9 on an uefi laptop Any help is welcome. Thanks, Albert -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Was an update to Vbox installed? If yes then you may have to recreate the Vbox driver using: /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup Just a thought although re-installing shoud have done that automagically. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
This is not the case now, since I do not have a valid installation. When I used to have, and installed an upgrade, vbox always warned me of running the above command. Albert -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Yast and zypper did not do it, rpm -i did: it rebuilt kernel modules and installed vbox successfully. Albert -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
