Any advice please, what I'm missing, or what is wrong? I don't know for sure why, but I have seen this a few times. Check line 811 in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf and delete the spaces before the hash (#), making sure the hash is on the first line. Then, save the file, restart cups, you should be good to go. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Registered Linux user 231871

I know about it for some time but I also didn't know what caused it unitl I finally found the reason ... it is the YaST function which actually writes changings into config files. For each run of the YaST printer config the above YaST function is called and you get one more leading blank in line 811. Meanwhile it is fixed in YaST but you can simply ignore the error message. Ignore it. It doesn't cause any problem. Look at line 811 in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf and you will find something like ------------------------------------------------------------------ # ------------------------------------------------------------------ i.e. a wrong formatted comment line because the CUPS manual states that comment lines must begin with #. Therefore cupsd tries to parse this line which causes the message.
