Re: confirm subscribe to suse-linux-e@suse.com
I've just upgraded from SuSE 7.2 to SuSE 8.2
sendmail 8.11 -> 8.12
Mail is just not getting delivered.
It doesn't bounce and it doesn't appear in the mail queue
mailq ...
Everything looks right including the dir permissions
mail doesn't get delivered even locally and even with a
vanilla default sendmail config..
I've been pulling out my hair for a couple of days over this
and have run out of ideas..
I've been watching the logs but nothing interesting appears
/var/logxs/mail.err

Hmmm. This looks interesting to me, "SYSERR(root): Too many hops". This looks like a network error someplace, probably too many bounces.
/var/log/mail Nov 13 13:56:12 xchange sendmail[29565]: hAD2qsdN029565: from=<>, size=16315, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<200311130256.hAD2qqfW029548@xxx.net>, proto=ESMTP, relay=mail@localhost [127.0.0.1]
I can log into the port and check sendmail and it appears to have everything okay..
can anyone help please ??? I'm stuck here!
DNS is fine
