I'm running SuSE Professional 8.0 and tried to run online update today. It complained that gpg was not installed and gave me a pop-up dialog [yes|no] for each file (gpg IS installed - v 1.06). I could not sit all morning clicking yes so I tried to click abort. That did not work. I did ctrl-alt-esc and put the little kill symbol on the window and clicked. Poof. Now, when I start yast2 online update I get a screen for a few moments while it gets the available serverlist, then this message: earth:~ # yast2 online_update /sbin/yast2: line 149: 1372 Aborted /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/y2base $module "$@" qt -geometry "$Y2_GEOMETRY" -style="$Y2_STYLE" -fn $Y2_XFONT earth:~ # I've rebooted so I doubt it's an open file somewhere. Anybody seen this before? How do I fix it (other than buy 8.x which I will probably do in a few weeks)? -- Eric Lucas ----------
Eric, are you close enough for "C" Street and Potter Drive? We have 8.1 on CD or DVD. If you want really detailed help fast, search the list archive at: http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-autoinstall/ If you don't find it answered, then forward your original question the list at: suse-autoinstall@suse.com The more generalized list is "suse-linux-e" at: http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-linux-e/ and the email address is: suse-linux-e@suse.com These are about 40 such lists (in English): http://www.suse.com/us/private/support/mailinglists/index.html On 24-Mar-2003 Eric Lucas wrote:

I've rebooted so I doubt it's an open file somewhere. Anybody seen this before? How do I fix it (other than buy 8.x which I will probably do in a few weeks)?
