Hi all, Am just about to purchase the 8.2 version when I saw that the previous 8.1 version came with a program I VERY much like and have used extensively. I wonder if Partition Magic 8.x, or another DECENT partition program ie not fdisk! , is shipped with the Standard or Professional series? -- ======================================================================== Hylton Conacher - Registered Linux user # 229959 Using Linux Mandrake 9.0 with KDE 3 on a 2.4.19-16mdk kernel Licenced Windows user ========================================================================

During the installation, you have the option of using the "advanced" mode of partitioning [note: it takes a few "confirmational" style clicks to get there...] but once there, it is a graphical version of fdisk for linux AND allows for resizing of existing partitions [though could somebody please confirm: will it resize an NTFS partition? (winnt/xp/2k)] I believe this style of partitioner has been in SuSE since 8.0 (maybe even late 7.x releases) and now includes LVM so you can build "volume groups" and/or RAIDx devices. [LVM was in 8.1 at least, maybe even 8.0 -- I can't remember if I built my RAID setup on 8.0 "by hand" or not...] - -- Yet another Blog: http://osnut.homelinux.net -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2-rc1-SuSE (GNU/Linux) Comment: http://osnut.homelinux.net/TomEmerson.asc iD8DBQE+tq5DV/YHUqq2SwsRAtryAJ9OV+IkUuccFxxfpeteyPvbQcRmswCdETk7 Mv/HQ40rbvQMITXiHG6hs6Q= =yYaA -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
