Updating kde 3.1 to 3.1.1
Hi Guys I'm busy trying to update my KDE using the rpms from the SuSE site. I have installed qt3, arts, kdelibs, kdebase, kdenetworks, kdeatwork. What else is needed to get Konqueror to work again, as well as file manager. They look like they are trying to open but never do. Regards Mark A

Mark, You didn't say if this was 8.2 or 8.1 installed on your machine, but either way really, you should compile your own kdelibs and/or qt3 from SuSE's source rpms, as their rpm files will probably cause you problems. Try starting Konqueror from the shell and post the messages from that. That method should tell you more and you or someone here might be able to determine what is causing you grief. Again though, you should compile your own kdelibs and/or qt3 from the src.rpms SuSE provides to get the very best setup/upgrade. Patrick, what am I missing if I do not compile qt3 and kdelibs3? -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless

Patrick,

Besides the known problems most of us had, you might want to take a look at the number of Styles you suddenly don't have in your Appearance items. It will usually cut that down to about 1/2 of what you started with and a good kdelibs3. That was one of the more obvious things I looked for when testing for the completeness of the rpm.
