I don't know which application you have installed, but in case I'm missing an ICON or menu-entry on desktop for click-to-start an application, or one woudn't start at all, then I'm starting a package manager like kpackage or YAST and have a look on the list of files of the package of interest. In general you can do the following on command line: First check if the package is installed, e.g. 'dillo' with peter@raven:~> rpm -q dillo dillo-2.0-1 peter@raven:~> Second, if the package is installed, get a list of the files, e.g. with peter@raven:~> rpm -ql dillo /etc/dillorc /etc/dpidrc /usr/bin/dillo /usr/bin/dpid /usr/bin/dpidc /usr/lib/dillo /usr/lib/dillo/dpi /usr/lib/dillo/dpi/bookmarks /usr/lib/dillo/dpi/bookmarks/bookmarks.dpi [...] or with easy scrolling peter@raven:~> rpm -ql dillo | less /etc/dillorc /etc/dpidrc /usr/bin/dillo /usr/bin/dpid /usr/bin/dpidc /usr/lib/dillo lines 1-6 Search for files in bin for executeables, here /usr/bin/dillo. Search for files like README or something else, mostly in a path including 'doc' or likewise.
