I've been playing around for the better part of the day, uninstalling/reinstalling kde1 and kde2 and have noticed that with kde1 installed, mixer is fine. As soon as I install kde2 then mixer goes blank. Sound works perfectly, but nothing shows up in the mixer window. It's completely greyed out with a normal window frame. I've also noticed that under yast2, when kde1 is installed, I can access the sound module and test the sound. With kde2 installed, it reports that the sound module couldn't be installed and that I should check that alsa is correctly installed. Again, sound works perfectly, but the sound module won't work. Has anyone narrowed this down further? I'm gonna do some more playing Sunday, see if I can figure out what made it go bad. -- S.Toms - tomas@primenet.com - www.primenet.com/~tomas SuSE Linux v7.0+ - Kernel 2.2.17 "To vacillate or not to vacillate, that is the question ... or is it?"
