Upgrading my system from 6.3 to 7.0 , SMB services starts no more. I have found that the size of the file /etc/rc.config was reduced from 22000 to 1600 bytes (approx) and the statement START_SMB="yes" was missing. Can anyone help me? The smbmount command syntax has changed. Are you using the smbmount command? At 10:59 AM 1/3/01 -0200, rbr wrote:

some config stuff has been moved into the /etc/rc.config.d dir. Otherwise, some thing may have gone wrong, leaving you a crapped version of rc.config. ;-( The main reason is as you stated, the missing START_SMB entry.
