[opensuse] KBabel dissapears?

This is correct. Someone is working on something called KAider, which will replace it.

poEdit seems the only one aimed at the desktop, but KBabel is better IMO. If you have a team you could use a web-based option like Kartouche (disclaimer: I wrote that) or Pootle, but they have drawbacks as well as benefits.

Yes, I have been told that. But it's so green as been unusable yet: at least that what their todo file says. KBabel is still usable, but I wonder how long will it take for it to fall in disrepair, as it is not maintained.

That's my feeling to. And gtranslate disappeared some time ago.

I haven't translated software in ages so this may be totally useless and besides you probably know it already, and furthermore it may be of no interest to what you do, but the "Spanglish" list had some traffic when I was last subscribed (about a couple of years ago, I think).
