[opensuse] repomd.xml will expire soon
Invoking 'zypper patch' yielded--among others--the following response:
Retrieving repository 'Untested Updates' metadata----------------[\] The gpg key signing file 'repomd.xml' will expire in 14 days. Repository: Untested Updates Key Name: openSUSE:Maintenance OBS Project <openSUSE:Maintenance@build.opensuse.org> Key Fingerprint: 7C097045 B0D351D3 69AC453A 598D0E63 B3FD7E48 Key Created: Fri Sep 29 19:30:59 2017 Key Expires: Sun Dec 8 18:30:59 2019 (expires in 14 days) Rpm Name: gpg-pubkey-b3fd7e48-59ce8353 Retrieving repository 'Untested Updates' metadata.............[done]
Is there any need to renew or prolongate the file repomd.xml? Or is it--as I suppose--dispensable? Thanks in advance, Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Извини, Андрей. My system is Leap 15.1, and the repository involved, as can be seen above, is 'Untested Updates'. Best regards, Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

This is just repository name on your local system. It can be anything. Show output of "zypper lr -d".
Best regards, Wolfgang

Since "zypper lr -d" produces very long lines, I had to manipulate them a little bit for making them readable in a mail message:
| Alias | Name | Enabled | GPG Check | Refresh | Priority | Type | URI | repo-update-test | Untested Updates | Yes | (r) Yes | Yes | 99 | rpm-md | http://download.opensuse.org/update/leap/15.1-test/
Thank you and best regards, Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

So this is obs://openSUSE:Maintenance:Test:Leap_15.1 as explained later.

You do not usually need this repository unless you are actively testing proposed updates. Are you?
Or is it--as I suppose--dispensable?
Not sure I understand the question but there is nothing in this repository that won't be available later as official update. And if you are using this repository you should be prepared to also fix potential breakage. Still error is not nice, so adding mmeissner in case he is not yet aware :) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

If I have understood you correctly, the repository in question is not only superfluous but also dangerous. So, I will not wait for its expiration, but remove it immediately. Thanks a lot, Andrej. Best regards, Wolfgang

Hi, The repo key should auto extend itself. (Well the obs will do it.) We will monitor if this happens. Ciao, Marcus Am 24. November 2019 18:30:43 MEZ schrieb Wolfgang Mueller <wm@ariannuccia.de>:

Neither. The issue is that the repository which you call 'Untested Updates', which is signed with a PGP key, as every repository, but that signature has expired and must be renovated by that repository owner - not you. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E.
