Is there any need to renew or prolongate the file repomd.xml? Or is it--as I suppose--dispensable?
Neither. The issue is that the repository which you call 'Untested Updates', which is signed with a PGP key, as every repository, but that signature has expired and must be renovated by that repository owner - not you. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E.
