Works with Moz in (ahem) Windows. Hey - I'm at work! But - you need the Shockwave plugin, not Shockwave Flash - yup, there's a difference. You should be able to get it from the Macromedia website. Olly
Yeah under Moz in Windlows it works fine for me too... but not under Linux / Moz.. I got flash-plugin-6.0.69-6.i386.rpm from their MM's site. Still no joy... Thx Dre ;)

I had no problem getting the Flash plugin to work with Mozilla & Galeon. I assume you have Mozilla located in /opt/mozilla? That's the default location for it in SuSE 8.1. If so, make certain you have the following two files in /opt/mozilla/plugins: flashplayer.xpt libflashplayer.so Once those files are in the plugins directory, close Mozilla (if open) and start it up. If you check "about: plugins" on the Help menu, you should see Shockwave Flash listed. If you have Mozilla located somewhere other than /opt/mozilla, then put the files in /path.to/mozilla/plugins. It isn't looking for shockwave FLASH, it is looking for shockwave DIRECTOR. There is no director for Linux AFAIK, only flash. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM. --======================== Just before this site asked for Shockwave, I got a quick window asking for DirectX also. Since only windoze does DirectX, I would suspect that to be the problem on the Linux side, more than Shockwave. I never have a problem with Shockwave sites in Konq or Mozilla, so my guess is these guys need to fix their site! Having a windows only site these days is just being out of touch with reality. Of course, the UK seems to only slowly be moving away from such things as M$ has had them (UK government) in their grip for a while now. I just checked http://buypower.vauxhall.co.uk/trafficnet/. Actually, it's not asking for DirectX. It needs a plugin to view mime-type: application/x-director. Apparently, the site has information created with Macromedia's Director Shockwave Studio. Unfortunately, there is no plugin available for that in Linux. I would think that's why the site is not viewable. Rick On Tue, 2003-01-14 at 10:13, PL O'Smith wrote:

Can I point out that you *can* play Shockwave content on Linux. You just need to buy the Codeweavers Crossover plugin. It's only twenty dollars or so and you'll be able to view Shockwave stuff and Quicktime movies and even (I hesitate to say it) Windows media player content.
