I would recommend Plextor. Have used their units for a long time beginning with scsi units and OS/2. Have a DVD-reader(cdrw) and a DVD+/-RW presently working perfectly under SuSE 9.0 (until 9.3 arrives, 9.1 and 9.2 still on the shelf).

AND, their prices have come down close to the LiteOn and LTs.

Huh, there were *no* single-layer DVD's when I ran OS/2, IIRC.

But, yes, my DVD reader (cdrw) did read correctly the 9.2 dual-layer DVD's. It is a 20/10/40-12a, Model: "PLEXTOR CD-R PX-320A",

Thanks, Patrick. I only ask because I have a DVD drive which won't read the 9.2 disc! I'm off to find a suitable supplier :-)
