Anybody else finding Gwenview crashing frequently when looking at large folders, or perhaps more likely folders with large tiffs in them? And does anyone know whether there's a way of avoiding the crashes? Thanks Jerry - actually since the updated version was made available via kde 3.1.1 I've had fair luck with it, particularly as I want to use it to organise and view images as a standalone program rather than as a viewer within Konq, etc. It does a lot more than xv. But trying to view dirs with large files in them seems to send it over ...

I've found that in the default configuration of SuSE 9.2, with Gwenview as the default viewer in Konqueror, it often ends up failing to display any images, particularly if one has many tabs / windows with images in open in Konqueror. There's a lot of good things in 9.2 (e.g. SCPM better integrated), but some annoyances (kprinter missing from openoffice - easy to fix once you know how, but it worked seamlessly in 9.1 ... Gwenview as default viewer when it isn't as stable as the previous default, ...)
And does anyone know whether there's a way of avoiding the crashes?
I switched Konqueror to a different default viewer (!), "Embeddable Image Viewer", which also has occasional glitches, but doesn't seem as bad as Gwenview. -- Bill Gallafent.
