I don't know how many of you use KPager, but I found a really cool applet on kde-look.org. It's called kicker-pager and it's a NICE replacement for the crappy panel pager applet that KDE uses normally. If your interested in it. Then take a look at it here. You can also get src for it as well. http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=6702 Regards, -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----------------------------------------------------------- The IQ and the life expectancy of the average American recently passed each other going in the opposite direction.
How can I launch this program? I read the documentation, but can't find it. On Sat, 2003-06-21 at 17:27, Ben Rosenberg wrote:

Right click on the panel as you would for any other applet. So it's like this. 1. Right click on the panel. 2. Panel Menu 3. Add 4. Applet 5. choose Kicker Pager Done. :) -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----------------------------------------------------------- The IQ and the life expectancy of the average American recently passed each other going in the opposite direction.
The kicker pager is not in that menu on my Suse 8.2. And the problem is that when I try to start it manually (console or run), it is not integrated in the taskbar like in the screenshot here: http://www.kde-look.org/content/preview.php?file=6702-1.png&PHPSESSID=04d2950b7e70f6398833762ef672d85e :( On Sat, 2003-06-21 at 23:41, Ben Rosenberg wrote:

It's not going to be in the K menu .. but if you right click on the panel itself and go to the panel menu option then to add then to applet it should be there. It's worked fine on both my workstation in the office and at home. I didn't do anything special. I'm not sure what it hasn't shown up on the menu that I'm talking about. http://www.whack.org/~ben/pictures/desktop-shots/ I have two shots of my desktop here. Notice where the menu stems from. It most likely is better to show you what I was talking about vs trying to explain it. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----------------------------------------------------------- The IQ and the life expectancy of the average American recently passed each other going in the opposite direction.

From the beginnin': 1. Download, uncompress, make and install the file from the first mail linked in this thread. 2. Restart Kicker (or the applet won't show in the menu!*) 3. Do what parent mail said to add applet to panel In my opinion (1152x864) it uses too much space** in kicker , i even reduced the number of virtual desktops from 4 to 3 to have it in horizontal layout... but the pixmap preview feature is verrry cool :) * (i bet this is the problem you're having) ** (classic layout, that is, grid of height 2 is not so nice but only uses half space...)
Maybe a screenshoot will explain my problem: http://sourian.go.ro/shoot.png How can I integrate it into the taskbar like Ben Rosenberg did? http://www.whack.org/~ben/pictures/desktop-shots/ Regards, Sourian On Sun, 2003-06-22 at 04:21, Ivanovich wrote: > On Dissabte 21 Juny 2003 23:52, Sourian wrote: > > The kicker pager is not in that menu on my Suse 8.2. > > > > And the problem is that when I try to start it manually (console or > > run), it is not integrated in the taskbar like in the screenshot here: > > On Sat, 2003-06-21 at 23:41, Ben Rosenberg wrote: > > > > > Right click on the panel as you would for any other applet. In the default mode kicker kpager has all it's windows next to each other. Is it possible to have 2 above each other? In kpager terms called: classical mode. -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless

Click on one of the windows and you can configure it just as you would kpager. :) -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----------------------------------------------------------- The IQ and the life expectancy of the average American recently passed each other going in the opposite direction.

I did. I have tried classical and vertical, but both modes still show as horizontal... => It seems that changing modes does not automatically change it insides kicker. What happens if you select e.g. classical? -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless

I get 6 small windows ..3 on top and 3 on the bottom. But they are so small as to be useless for much in my opinion. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----------------------------------------------------------- The IQ and the life expectancy of the average American recently passed each other going in the opposite direction.

It seem that kicker must be resized or moved to the side, to make the new mode visible. Thanks for the confirmation :) -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless
