[opensuse] Upgrading to Gnome 2.18.
Hello, I want to upgrade SuSE 10.2's installation of Gnome to Version 2.18 from 2.16.1. What is the best way of doing this without having to go looking for a lode of dependencies and sources? The GNOME:STABLE repository should suffice.

*not trying to hijack a thread* I am wanting to upgrade my gnome also. I have added the GNOME:STABLE repo to ZMD. I also see that there are many rpm's in that repo. Which ones do i need to install to upgrade my gnome and in what order? Chris -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I second the question. I've not been able to do a clean upgrade to G:S (i.e. ending up with a functional desktop). -- Michel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

just add the repo to zypper/yum/whatever you use, and do a full update.
That should work, I hope :-) If not, you might need packages from other
repos (10.3).

I have it added to zmd but it still says "no updates available". SLED SP1 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Shouldn't be any order needed, but it appears there are a few bugs in
there. We are discussing on opensuse-gnome and Stanislav has been
correcting a few things.

So, can someone walk me through getting the latest gnome on my SLED10 SP1 box? I have added the repo to zmd but it says no updates available. I can use yast? Chris -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Anyone care to venture what packages need to updated in order to get the latest gnome 2.18 installed and working?

OK, i found out how to do this in yast2. Now, when i clicked to update the packages, i get a dependency conflict: Can't satisfy requirement libnautilus-burn.so.2 for helix-banshee-0.12.0-0.13.i586 Conflict Resolution: ( ) delete helix-banshee ( ) Ignore this requirement just here ( ) Ignore this requirement generally I search for banshee and do not see where i can update to the needed version. What do i need to install to get this to go away? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I have libnautilus-burn.so.2 on the filesystem and i also have helix-banshee 0.12 installed. I think i will "Ignore this requirement just here" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
