Hiya, I feel really stupid having to ask this question, but here it is: I'm running PPC Linux (v. 7.3), and have just installed "gtk-gnutella" from the CD's. Now, I'd like to run it, but I don't know what command to use -- told you: stupid. (Tried the README, but that didn't contain much information.) What's the magic word (command)? TIA -- for helping out a dummy. Alexander Schrieken Amsterdam alx@spidernet.nl the Netherlands

I'm not using PPC, but on my 7.3 system the command is just "gtk-gnutella". If that's not working, try a "whereis gtk-gnutella" or "locate gtk-gnutella" to find out where it is. Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but you did say, "extreme newbie" :) If your gtk-nutella installed OK, it's now sitting somewhere in some directory (probably /usr/bin), but unlike on the Mac, it's not going to show automagically in any of your menus or on your desktop. To run it, you can either: - open terminal window and just type "gtk-gnutella". - if you're running KDE you can do the same thing by hitting Alt-F2 and typing gtk-gnutella into the dialog that pops up. Gnome has something similar under "Run" option in its menu. - you can add it to your menu or make a desktop shortcut to it, but that's another topic :) - to see where the various bits were installed, type "locate gtk-gnutella" in a terminal.
