Double check to make sure you didn't change your security settings to secure. Also do an 'ls -l /usr/bin/suidperl' Should give you -rwsr-xr-x 3 root root 1160321 2004-10-01 19:42 /usr/bin/suidperl
thank's . I change the file suidperl with #chmod 4755 /usr/bin/suidperl #ls /usr/bin/suidperl -l -rwsr-xr-x 2 root root 1151486 2004-04-02 22:11 /usr/bin/suidperl and continues giving the same error to me. Doug Currey wrote:

In the openwebmail dir usually /srv/www/cgi-bin/openwebmail/ run './openwebmail-tool.pl --init' Make sure that you also edit the dbm.conf dbm_ext .pag dbmopen_ext none dbmopen_haslock no and the auth_unix.conf (if using auth_unix) passwdfile_plaintext /etc/passwd passwdfile_encrypted /etc/shadow passwdmkdb none check_nologin no check_shell no check_cobaltuser no before running the openwebmail-tool Doug
Thanks Doug !. # ./openwebmail-tool.pl --init Permission denied :( Doug Currey wrote:

How did you extract the tar file? I copy the openwebmail-current.tar.gz to the /srv/www direcotry Then do a tar -zxvBpf openwebmail-current.tar.gz This makes the /srv/www/cgi-bin/openwebmail dir with the correct permisions if memory serves all the .pl files should end up being owned by root and in the mail group mode 755 Doug
no, i execute : tar -zxvf openweb.... but now i execute what u have suggested to me, and was OK, and i obtained east result: # ./openwebmail-tool.pl --init /usr/local/www/cgi-bin/openwebmail/etc/maps/b2g.map not found at ./openwebmail-tool.pl line 251. and this archive exist in: # ls -l /srv/www/cgi-bin/openwebmail/etc/maps/b2g.map -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 83850 2003-10-13 15:20 /srv/www/cgi-bin/openwebmail/etc/maps/b2g.map i don´t know :( Doug Currey wrote:

Ok I am running out of ideas. This was a known problem with 2.3x but not with 2.41. in the /srv/www/cgi-bin/openwebmail/etc/defaults/openwebmail.conf file does it have the following: ow_mapsdir %ow_etcdir%/maps g2b_map %ow_mapsdir%/g2b.map b2g_map %ow_mapsdir%/b2g.map lunar_map %ow_mapsdir%/lunar.map pay close attentin to to ow_mapsdir the bug was the missing 's' other than that I am out of ideas. Let me know if you find anything else out. Doug
