Hi Marcel, what do you mean? - How works the bootstrap of a computer? - How to reenable the greeter that is shown up on first login? What services did you enable/disable in the runlevel editor? What's your goal? -- mdc

Hi Marcel,

My goal is to install suse, make some change in configuration ( source.list, wallpaper, etc ) then save that like an image to be installed in a lot of machines. All this is easy. But i need that the first time, that somebody start the computer, ask for a root password, user name, etc. A suppose that what "yast2-firstboot" do, but i can't make it work. This what the package says: "YaST Initial System Configuration The YaST firstboot utility runs after installation is completed. It guides the user through a series of steps that allows for easier configuration of the machine. YaST firstboot does not run by default and has to be configured to run by the user or the system administrator. It is usefull for image deployments where the system in the image is completely configured, however some last steps like root password and user logins have to be created to personalize the system." Thanks, for any help you can give me about it. -- Marcel Mourguiart
