mmm OK! I read it myself and it a bit vague.. We run sendmail, on Suse 9.3. Today the mails clients are not logging in first (pop3). Some time we have to click send and receive several times before it is successfull, Sendamail (smtp ) is working just fine Any ideas ? -- -- Chadley Wilson Production Line Superintendant Pinnacle Micro Manufacturers of Proline Computers ==================================== Exercise freedom, Use LINUX =====================================

If pop-before-smtp is not reliable then use a method that is. (^-^) Microsoft Outlook Express is notoriously unreliable when it comes to pop-before-smtp. I would go for smtp-auth by using cyrus-sasl or sasl-db or ldap or mysql or whatever floats your boat and you feel comfortable to administer. Sandy
