Ed: Yes, this had me going for a while too... the device that should be doing the masquerading is the device with the lagitimate network connection. In your case, probably ppp0. bc Ed wrote:

For the record I compiled a kernal according to the how-to - loaded modules and entered the ipchains rules and my gateway has a working internet hookup - just nothing is getting to my LAn and all the computers on the LAN can see the gateway. Thanks in advance. Ed Bailey
