[SLE] ip masq problem - HELP please
hi, I am using suse 6.2 with a NIC and a dialup modum on my firewall/gateway machine. In rc.config under MAQ_DEV YAST as eth0 which i presume is my NIC. Isn't that the wrong device to use shouldn't it be the modum that is forwarded to the rest of my lan and not the the NIC. I am really having problems gettng this to work so I appreciate any help that can be provided. For the record I compiled a kernal according to the how-to - loaded modules and entered the ipchains rules and my gateway has a working internet hookup - just nothing is getting to my LAn and all the computers on the LAN can see the gateway. Thanks in advance. Ed: Yes, this had me going for a while too... the device that should be doing the masquerading is the device with the lagitimate network connection. In your case, probably ppp0. bc Ed wrote:
