[opensuse] Creating local copy of 12.2 repository plus patches
Hey guys and gals, I know that oS 12.2 is no longer officially supported, so I was wanting to create a local copy of the 12.2 repo, complete with the latest patches and versions. That way, as I install software in the future, I was hoping to be able to just use the local copy rather than trying to have to download packages manually and try to match up required version numbers, etc. The reason I'm not going to be upgrading this box anytime soon is because it's my server at home, and I've done so many tweaks and customizations to the box, I don't want to risk an upgrade to 13.1 going wrong or one of the pieces of third-party software running on it not being compatible. Besides, there isn't any benefit for me upgrading at this point, especially since everything is working really really well right now. You don't need to do that. The discontinued products are just moved to less active servers at least for a couple years. http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Mirrors#EOL_mirrors I don't know when they get removed from there. You can easily create a local mirror: http://en.opensuse.org/Mirror_Infrastructure -- Per Jessen, Zürich (6.8°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - dedicated server rental in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
