Folks, I have a Geforce2 MX 32mb and i don't obtain success when i try to install it. Searching in a SDB i found this article: http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/sliesch_behling_nvidia_configuration71.html But i'm running the suse 7.2 this article is for 7.1... My question is: Can i trust what this article says or have a better way to install the driver ? Other question is: The article ask me to download the rpm packages from nvidia site. i went to this site: http://www.nvidia.com/us/ie/pg000014.htm and downloaded the packages in the session SuSE 7.2, thats' right ? thanks in advance.

Installing the nVidia drivers is a peice of cake. My suggestion is to only
use the RPM for the GLX, and compile the Kernel driver source code yourself.
Here is what I do:
Download the GLX rpm for SuSE 7.2 from the nVidia site
Download the tar file for the kernel from the nVidia site.
run: rpm -Uvh --nodeps

.i386.rpm run the following commands for the driver itself: tar xvzf .tar.gz cd NVIDIA_kernel* make restart your computer, you are done.
1. This is not windows! One does not need to restart the computer just to change a module. Shutting down X, rmmod NVdriver and modprobe NVdriver will do it 2. Make sure you don't have the old 'non-accelerated' version of NVdriver left in the module directory. I'm not sure what search path modprobe uses, but if you're as unlucky as me, you can spend hours banging your head in the wall trying to figure out why gears run at 300 fps instead of 3000, not realizing that there's two NVdrivers there :)
Have a great day, and good luck! -Steven
