I've just tried zypper with a fixed repository, bypassing the proxy mechanism: # zypper up -r http://mirror.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/opensuse/distribution/leap/42.2/repo/oss/ Repository 'http://mirror.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/opensuse/distribution/leap/42.2/repo/oss/' not found by its alias, number, or URI. Apparently I don't understand the syntax.
