Never been to Canada, have distant relations there though.

All good things come to those who wait...

Using 8.2 here, so its certainly time for me to upgrade. You could take hours and update 9.0 to reflect 9.1, but its never the same. And of course it won't be 100% the same as newer features of Yast would not be included.

All I can say is that people in the US, with pre-orders from suse.com have just gotten shipment notification. Make your own estimates on that (perhaps stores will have it sooner, maybe check with your sources to see if they do call upon receipt of the stock...). Matt

Hah. Nobody around here (Halifax) stocks it at all. Well, Future Shop does but they wait a few months before putting it on the shelf. In the past, I've purchased from Camelot.ca and they were pretty good, but for 9.0 and 9.1, I broke down and bought from the SUSE store. It's cheaper for us these days than it used to be.

Best Buy carries it, also there's a place in Toronto that you can get your hardware pusher to order from. Mine won't, the're too wacked out to deal with in terms of software, and they're the only actual Canadian importers from what I can tell. :(

<blink> <blink> How on earth did you manage that feat?

That would be Ingram Micro I believe. You need to find a retailer with an account. Last time I check Office Depot had one, but its a special order, not available on the shelf anymore. Regards /ch Ottawa

There shouldn't be any duty on software or books, though you still get nailed for tax. However, my biggest complaint about bringing stuff over the border, is that some couriers hit you for extremely high "broker" fees.

Yes like 27.50 to fill out a few sheets of paper. Then add on pst & gst and other misc charges and that much cheaper US box is well not so cheap anymore. Its easier to make a day of it and have lunch or dinner on the US side do some shopping etc if you live close to the border. regards /ch
