Re: [opensuse] How to join an Airport wireless network?
Hi Klaas, configuring a wireless connection with openSUSE 10.3 is quite an easy task with NetworkManager... just find the BSSID you want to connect to and NetworkManager will ask you for the WEP-key, in this case. If you are 100% that the WEP-key is correct then search your system logs (/var/log/messages or dmesg) to check whether the card is recognized by your openSuSE 10.3 or not and if it is you should check its configuration... Hello, I would like to be able to use the wireless facilities of my Mac mini G4 running openSuse 10.3. I managed to load the firmware for the Airport card but now there is one more obstacle: - after scanning the wireless card comes back and ask for the key to join the airport. Now I enter the key that I use in the Mac situation, a normal name. It is WEB security. I have tried all combinations, ascii - WEB 64 and all but no result.
- when I run Mac OS X on this mini it connects without a problem.
- Is there anyone who has solved the same problem and willing to help me along?
thank you, Klaas Punt
