Ok, a daily notification. Thus I suppose it comes from the package-kit app, not from YaST or zypper. Please verify, and check its configuration.

For what it is worth, I always remove package kit from all my installs.

Try to start "zypper patch" (as root in a terminal). Does it complain?

I did so, and a lot off stuff was installed. Then I started "zypper patch" again, getting this response: Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... Resolving package dependencies... np, cleared that up. But I cannot help as I rely on zypper and until recently successfully supressed that "pop up" and have never tried to utilize it. I still have it unchecked in system tray settings "General" but to no avail. I checked/enabled it and told it to always show and it shows none so cannot check. Errrr, just poped up saying 31 updates but doesn't allow me to do anything. Checking with zypper, indeed shows 31 updates, installing.
