I have an ACER Aspire 5315 with MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-850S ATA DVD-CD Rom drive and I'm trying to install openSUSE 10.0 on that. The laptop has Vista home premium as OS. An installation with the SUSE linux 10.0 DVD stranded, as the DVD drive could not be found - although the installationprogram wa started from that same drive!!! ??
Try a newever version its probably missing needed drivers or even a pciid.
The trick with Instlux from Marc Herbert (http://marc.herbert.free.fr/linux/win2linstall.html did not work.
Why? YOu have a CD-ROM in the system it seems...
Then I tried to make an ISO9660 disk with openSUSE-10.3-GM-KDE-Live-i386.iso. That did not result in a bootable disk as promised.
Why are you making anything? You download the disk and burn it. No processing is needed. Use a standard CD burning application I can assure you Nero Burning ROM v 5.5 and above support burning bootable ISO images and so does K3B. Both are excellent programs.
Do somebody have a good advice for me?
Buy the boxset? It includes installation support :) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
