I haven't tried real stamps, just envelopes with e.g. a PP-stamp. (for Switzerland). /Per Jessen, Zürich -- http://www.spamchek.com/ - managed email security. Don't know. Have you checked over at wine yet? Michael S. Dunsavage wrote:

Stamps.com doesn't install correctly due to IE not installing correctly via wine -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Well what I read was that IE asks to be default and you say yes, but it never really goes default. So Stamps.com then can't install correctly. Actually the install hangs. The program shows up in the menu and what not, but it won't work because it never installed right. http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=4264&iTestingId=1646 I spent some time searching all over Google for this and nothing. Even a few program that worked w/ linux from Amazon, but the companies have since went bye bye. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Doesn't the government take a dim view of that? ;-)
Not if you purchase the stamps via an online service....... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Stamps.com uses a downloaded and installed piece of software, which I have had no reason to test with wine to date. They do have a developer's program where in you can integrate Stamps.com into your application, and then earn $60 from them each time a user of any package actually signs up to Stamps. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

No. British Post Office, aka Royal Mail, have been offering a product called SmartStamp for a couple of years now. Works fine under the dreaded Windoze. check http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/jump3?catId=400043&mediaId=26800663 Costs a bit for the annual subscription but works quite well! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
Apparently photstamps from stamps.com works under linux, but I think that's because it uses adobe. I'm not gonna go through all that crap for that. I'll just wait til after the new years when I have XP running in a VMware or on another machine. til then I'll just buy a book of stamps @ the local uspo -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

We use SmartStamp at work and its pretty good for businesses you get a running total of what credit you have you can buy more credit with the click of a button, you can stick your logo on and it works with pretty much any printer or envelope. It integrates with a fair range of (Windows) database applications, we use ACT (Sage) so it can pick the addresses from there. It will also let you stick an Advert on the envelope so you can get more for your money by using the stamps and sending an advert at the same time as that all important invoice. something along the lines of "Get our new whizzo thingy ma jig 25p each or four for a £1.00" ;-) -- Regards Peter cannon "There is every excuse for not knowing There is no excuse for not asking" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
