Re: [SLE] 9.3 to 10.0 upgrade advantages
Apart from the kernel I have a fully up-to-date (vi apt) version 9.3
system. What advantages if any would I get if I went to v10.0?
I found some of the included tools much better in 9.3, also the video support appears (subjective) better. You also get the SUSE branded OOo 2.0. It appears to be faster in many respects as well. -- kai ponte www.perfectreign.com linux - genuine windows replacement part

Can the branded OOo 2.0 upgrade be applied to 9.3? If so, how? Does the fact that this upgrade is not available via YOU mean that 9.3 is no longer supported?

It is available on 9.3!

For all our SUSE Linux products we offer two years of *Security Updates*. There's no general support for either of it, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

Hmm. Wasn't aware of that.

Yes, I'm still getting updates on my 9.1 and 9.2 machines. OTOH, I haven't gotten an update on my 10.0 laptop in about a week. I keep getting the orange circle on SUSE Watcher. For some reason, it can't connect. -- kai www.perfectreign.com linux - genuine windows replacement part

Fire up Yast and try an online update. Use other than you usual server for the updates and see if that connects. -- ___ _ _ _ ____ _ _ _ | | | | [__ | | | |___ |_|_| ___] | \/

With YOU. It has been available for some weeks already.

On Nov. 14 Novell announced that support for 9.0 is discontinued. 9.3 has many months of support left. Novell's policy is to support desktop Linux products for two years after their release. Randall Schulz
