you know looking at the code should handle it based on the variable i have

there is a switch you can add to the dhcpclient startup sequence
that
tells it not to set the dns
i forget exactly what it is but something like /sbin/dhcpcd -R
you can edit the /etc/init.d/dhclient script and add the -R flag to it or change the arguements on line 181 in the script.

i have both variables that could modify /etc/resolv.confg to 'no' yet my dhcpclient is modifying it any idea?
Change /etc/rc.config.d/dhcpcd.rc.config:DHCLIENT_MODIFY_RESOLV_CONF="no"
I had the same problem.
Sorry, didn't go far enough:
/etc/rc.config:MODIFY_RESOLV_CONF_DYNAMICALLY="no" /etc/rc.config.d/dhcpcd.rc.config:DHCLIENT_MODIFY_RESOLV_CONF="no"
You have to change in both locations ?? -- Pat Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 Registered at: http://counter.li.org
